HEARTH / BY PP VENTURES

A home system.
Built room by room.

Local hub. Room hardware. One app. An early prototype, built in our own room.

CURRENT STAGE · OWN-ROOM PROTOTYPE / HARDWARE IN DEVELOPMENT

01 / WHAT EXISTS TODAY

Quiet in the background.
Clear when you need it.

Existing app prototype · sample data. No commissioned installation or tested safety protection.

BUILT AT HOME, FIRST.

Our current hardware prototype starts in our own room. A bench circuit has been tried there; custom boards and broader room commissioning still need development and checks. The multi-floor app view uses sample data.

HEARTH / THE IDEA

A home that responds.
With you in control.

Early prototype. This scene illustrates the intended system; whole-home operation and safety remain unproven.

HEARTH · IN DEVELOPMENT

A connected home, built around you.

A person, a room, a connected homeA resident stands in a furnished room. A wall sensor connects to a local hub; a hand presses the wall switch to turn on the room light; the local hub also connects to the light, with a check mark showing its confirmed state. The wider house reveals other rooms connected to that same hub. This illustrates intended sensing, control and automation, not installed or verified hardware. Room sensorWall switchLocal hubLight

02 / THE SYSTEM WE’RE BUILDING

Different parts.
One considered home.

One property hub. Connected rooms. Compatibility and commissioning still need checking.

LOCAL HUB / INTENDED DEPLOYMENT

A centre for each property.

How this works

The plan uses a local hub running Home Assistant to connect compatible devices, coordinate routines and support the Hearth interface. Hardware sizing and network coverage depend on the property.

Local-first requires power and working equipment. Remote access and optional online integrations still need connectivity.

ROOM MODULE / IN DEVELOPMENT

Sensing, in the room.

How this works

A wall-mounted sensor board is being developed for presence and environmental inputs. The concept places it above the bed; this is an assumption pending presence-coverage and installation checks. It is separate from the relay board beside the switchbox, so room sensing and mains switching have distinct places.

A bench circuit has been tried in our own room. Custom PCB development and repeatable room checks are next.

SWITCHBOARD / IN DEVELOPMENT

Switching, where it belongs.

How this works

The hardware plan pairs a relay board beside the switchbox with a separate wall touch panel for scenes and controls. Existing physical switches are intended to remain usable if the hub or network fails.

Manual fallback is a requirement to verify. Mains work needs professional review and installation; these are not certified, ready-to-fit products.

HEARTH APP / EXISTING PROTOTYPE

A view you can understand.

How this works

The app prototype brings room views, everyday routines and an activity interface together. The screenshots above are existing interface work, presented with sample data.

A screen showing a requested state is not proof that hardware acted. Real device feedback and checks must establish that.

03 / FROM PROTOTYPE TO A PRACTICAL SETUP

Progress, with
checks at each step.

One room first. Wider deployment follows verified hardware and installation checks.

  1. CURRENT

    Own-room prototype

Existing app interface and a room bench circuit. Screens use sample data; this is not a customer installation portfolio.

  2. NEXT DEVELOPMENT

    Repeatable room hardware

Develop the sensor and relay boards, connect the panel and document room checks, device feedback and failure behaviour.

  3. BEFORE INSTALLATION

    Professional review & commissioning

Check electrical suitability, manual fallback, power and network dependencies. Agree what will be tested before a scoped installation.

  4. AFTER THOSE CHECKS

    A property-specific scope

Assess rooms, existing devices, wiring, coverage and intended routines. Confirm availability, responsibilities and cost individually.

Pump stop safeguards still need development and verification. Hearth is not marketed as tested flood protection or a replacement for certified safety systems.
